Agree what the part must do
Magnet supplier qualification starts with the drawing revision and acceptance criteria. Identify the functional dimensions, magnetic requirements, coating, magnetisation direction and permitted variation. Record continuous operating temperature, short peaks, assembly temperature and relevant exposure to moisture or chemicals.
For arc-segment magnets, include the radii, arc angle, reference surfaces and orientation in the rotor. Assess the proposed grade against the magnetic circuit and operating conditions. Agree which characteristics need measurement and which need application testing before ordering samples. The specification checklist helps assemble that starting point.
Compare offers on the same basis
We benchmark several production routes against the agreed specification. A comparable offer identifies the proposed material, coating, origin, quantities, tooling, documentation, lead time and delivery basis. Any deviation belongs in the comparison so your team can assess its effect.
Prototype quantities and the agreed measurement work are quoted. Prototypes are paid upfront under our commercial terms. Sample approval is a separate decision from accepting a quotation.
Measure samples against agreed methods
We coordinate samples and independent measurement to the agreed scope. Material properties such as remanence, Br, and intrinsic coercivity, HcJ, require a suitable magnetic-characterisation method, such as a hysteresisgraph measurement. The sample form, measurement temperature and equipment field capability must suit the material and the property being checked.
A finished part's flux is a different acceptance characteristic. Define the fluxmeter, calibrated coil or fixture, positioning, magnetisation state and test temperature. A part-flux reading alone does not establish Br or HcJ. Where results determine acceptance, agree how measurement uncertainty will be considered.
Specify dimensions and tolerances for the finished, coated part, with agreed datums and a measurement method. State any coating-thickness, adhesion or corrosion checks required for the application alongside the selected coating. Record magnetisation direction and polarity using a defined reference face or position.

Confirm performance in your assembly
Your team qualifies the samples in the intended assembly. Depending on the application, this may cover fit, adhesive bonding, handling, thermal exposure and magnetic performance under operating load. Agree these tests and their pass criteria before the trial.
We coordinate questions and any revised samples with the supplier. Your approval establishes the accepted part and revision for subsequent orders.
Carry the agreement into recurring orders
After qualification, we manage recurring supply against the approved specification and the documentation agreed per part. Batch identification connects deliveries to the agreed inspection records. Establish which material, process, coating, tooling or production-location changes require notification, further samples or renewed approval before supply continues.
