Motor magnets
Prototype and small-batch magnets
Most magnet producers are organised for volume. EMTXI handles custom sintered and bonded NdFeB magnets from single prototype pieces to a few thousand parts — arc segments, rings, blocks and discs — for motor developers, start-ups, R&D teams and small series. Send a drawing; you receive feasibility, price and lead time per production route.
Typical requests
Arc segments and annular sectors for axial-flux and radial-flux motor prototypes
Ring and tube magnets for pumps, micro-turbines, couplings and sensors
Blocks for interior-permanent-magnet rotors and linear motors
Matched sets for test rigs and spare rotors
How a prototype order works
You send a drawing, or the key dimensions with grade, magnetisation and quantity.
We confirm feasibility and propose grade and coating options, including grades without heavy rare earths where your temperatures allow.
You receive a quotation: price per piece, any setup charge, tolerances and lead time.
Prototype orders are paid in advance. Production starts after payment and drawing approval.
Parts ship with the producer's datasheet. A measurement report is available on request.
Lead time depends on the grade
| Grade family | Typical max. operating temperature | Heavy rare earths (Dy/Tb) | Indicative lead time |
|---|---|---|---|
| N (e.g. N42, N48, N52) | 80 °C | Usually none | A few weeks |
| M and H (e.g. N48H) | 100–120 °C | Often | A few weeks; two to four months longer if a Chinese export licence is needed |
| SH, UH, EH | 150–200 °C | Yes | As above |
Indicative only. Lead times depend on the production route, quantity and season. Whether a licence is needed depends on the composition and the producer; we confirm it per order.
Faster options when a grade needs a licence
For prototypes we quote the alternatives side by side:
European stock or machining, where available — fastest, higher price
A grade without dysprosium or terbium, if your temperatures allow
A producer outside China
The licensed route — usually the lowest price and the longest lead time
See export licences.
What we need to quote
Drawing or key dimensions, with functional tolerances
Grade, or the maximum operating temperature
Magnetisation direction; delivered magnetised or not
Coating preference
Quantity now, and expected later
Target delivery date and country
The application — export documentation asks for the end use
Buyer questions
Is there a minimum order?
There is no fixed minimum quantity. For very small orders a setup charge or a minimum order value may apply; it is shown separately in the quotation.
Can I see a datasheet before ordering?
Yes. The quotation includes the producer's datasheet for the proposed grade, with Br, HcJ, (BH)max and the maximum operating temperature.
Can prototypes move to series later?
Yes. The same route can supply the series, or we quote additional routes once the design is frozen, so you start with a second source in place.
Do I need to sign an NDA first?
No, but we sign one on request before you share drawings.
